Major Investment in Manufacturing Capability
InStyle Jewelry is excited to announce the completion of our facility expansion project, which includes the installation of a cutting-edge PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) plating line alongside our existing electroplating capabilities. This $2 million investment represents our commitment to delivering the highest quality products while keeping pace with growing demand from our global B2B customer base.
The new PVD line, sourced from a leading German equipment manufacturer, is capable of processing up to 5,000 pieces per day with consistent, ultra-durable finishes. This addition brings our total daily plating capacity to 18,000 pieces, a 40% increase over our previous capability.
What This Means for Our Customers
PVD plating offers significant advantages over traditional electroplating for fashion jewelry applications. The molecular-level bonding process creates a finish that is 5-10 times more resistant to scratching and fading compared to standard gold plating. For our customers, this translates to fewer returns, higher customer satisfaction, and the ability to offer longer product warranties.
We are initially offering PVD plating in four finishes: 18K Gold, Rose Gold, Black, and Silver. Additional specialty finishes will be introduced throughout the year based on customer demand. PVD-coated pieces carry a modest price premium of approximately 20-30% over traditional plating, but the dramatically improved durability makes it a compelling value proposition for premium fashion jewelry lines.
Sustainability Benefits
Beyond durability improvements, our PVD investment also advances our sustainability goals. PVD plating uses no liquid chemicals, produces zero waste water, and consumes significantly less energy per piece compared to electroplating. This aligns with our broader environmental strategy and supports customers who need to meet increasingly stringent sustainability requirements in their supply chains.
